A Thanksgiving Tradition of Turkey and Dogs

by Jessica Freni

The National Dog show is upon us! An unofficial kick off to the holiday season as we will soon gather around the Thanksgiving turkey… to watch dogs of course! Nearly 1,600 dogs are entered representing 189 different breeds/ varieties. This year is the special 20th Anniversary of the National Dog Show with Purina!

The format will be again slightly different from the pre-Covid iterations- primarily that the show is unbenched and secondly there is a strict Covid vaccination requirement, including for Juniors (verified via the CLEAR app). Bracelets will be worn by everyone on the show grounds per the Judging Program, “There will be colored bracelets for every day with proof of vaccination. You will only be allowed in the building with the correct colored bracelets. This includes Exhibitors, Handlers, Judges, Club Members, Assistants, Superintendent, Photographers, Video Tech, AKC, TV officials, etc. etc. etc. NO EXCEPTIONS. No bracelet no access to building.” Tickets can be purchased online via https://nds.nationaldogshow.com
